Amber Eyes

In times of old
When church bells rang
There lived a maiden fair.
Her eyes of amber shone anew
With every piercing stare.

She was light and darkness
Day and night
As mysterious as a shadow.
There never again lived another like her
As far as the people know.

She danced to no music
And frolicked in fog
As happy as could be.
But time will show what smiles cannot-
That life is a harsh reality.

Amongst the strange
And wild men
She ruled as the infinite queen
She led processions through the woods
Quiet and unseen.

In times of war
When blood was shed,
She fought with all her might.
She took the darkened souls of soldiers,
And turned them to the light.
